Skagit River Clean-Up 2008

The weekend of March 15th Blue Sky Outfitters will host the third annual Skagit River Clean-up. We are looking forward to this annual event that celebrates the beauty of the only designated Wild and Scenic River in Western Washington. Boaters will focus clean up efforts on the Goodell Creek to Copper Creek run and the Copper Creek to Rockport run. The day will end with a great party on the Skagit River including a dinner and a raffle with proceeds going to support AW's Pacific Northwest Stewardship work.

Here are the details:

  • Benefits: 100% of funds generated will go to American Whitewater’s PNW river conservation efforts!
  • Date: March 15/16, 2008
  • Where: Blue Sky Outfitters Skagit River Property (61008 SR 20, Marblemount; get directions)
  • When: Meet at 10:00am Saturday to coordinate shuttles/carpooling and get cleanup info
  • Camping: Free camping at Blue Sky Outfitters’ property Friday and Saturday night
  • What to bring: Your boat (for cleanup from the river) or hiking shoes / boots (for cleanup from the shore), warm clothes (which may get wet), your friends, an item for the potluck, camping gear and food/beverages for the weekend, and a pair of work gloves
  • Food: Saturday night: Benefit fish BBQ ($5 donation) and potluck - BYO beverages
  • Fun: Saturday night raffle (6:00PM) to benefit American Whitewater $1 donation per ticket

Saturday
10:00AM: Meet to get info and coordinate shuttles
11:00AM to 4:00PM: River Cleanup!
5:00PM: Potluck and benefit fish BBQ
6:00PM: Raffle

Sunday
10:00AM: Meet to coordinate shuttles/carpooling
11:00AM to 4:00PM: River Cleanup!
