Action Alert–Support River Access in Nevada!

On Thursday, March 28th, the Nevada Assembly Natural Resources Committee will hold a hearing on a bill (AB 396) that will ensure access for recreation on Nevada's lakes and streams. All of the waters within the state belong to the public, and recreational uses are recognized as beneficial uses. AB 396 will ensure that the public will have year-round use of the state's waters at or below the ordinary high water mark.

Each state has their own flavor of access laws, and strong access laws are especially important if you enjoy spending time on rivers. Paddler's voices are important in this process for Nevada. You can participate a number of ways…

If you live near Carson City, you can attend the hearing on Thursday, March 28th, which will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Legislative Building, 401 S. Carson St., Carson City, NV, in Room 3161.

If you can't make it to the hearing, you can also e-mail your thoughts to the Committee, register your support for the bill online, and/or watch the meeting live online by visiting the Nevada Legislature web-page and clicking on "Calendar of Meetings/View."
