Gore Canyon Festival (CO) is coming up August 23rd-25th
American Whitewater is pleased to announce the 2019 Gore Canyon Festival taking place August 23-25th on the Upper Colorado River. This annual event is one of the country's most exciting and important celebrations of whitewater recreation in the country. This year is the 30th anniversary of the race through Gore Canyon. We will be celebrating with a throwback t-shirt and awards presented by a very special guest. Join us for this historic event!
As the leading representative of the river-recreation community on the Upper Colorado River, American Whitewater is deeply invested in creating opportunities to protect, restore, and enjoy whitewater paddling on the Colorado River. The Gore Canyon Festival is the perfect stage to celebrate the beautiful and iconic Colorado River, and an opportunity for our partners to engage the public in cooperative river management.
In addition to the 30 year heritage of Class V downriver races through Colorado's notorious Gore Canyon, this festival offers family friendly floats through the popular Hartman (Little Gore) Canyon, a freestyle whitewater kayak rodeo at the Gore Canyon Whitewater Park, and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) competitions.
Please visit the event page for more information about the festival, to register for competitive events, volunteering, vending, and much more. Also be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on this year's event.
