Bailey Fest - August 13-14th, 2011 - Bailey, CO

The 2nd Annual Bailey Fest will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 13th and 14th, 2011. The event is a gathering to celebrate the whitewater opportunities on the North Fork of the South Platte River. Bailey Fest is coordinated with a release from Denver Water's Dillon Reservoir that will deliver low to medium flows through Roberts Tunnel during the event weekend. Paddlers can enjoy the Bailey run (IV/V), or the Foxton run (III/IV) just downstream. Paddlers meet mid morning on Saturday to run their stretch of choice. There will be a BBQ starting around 2PM at the Bailey takeout at Pine Valley Ranch Park. The BBQ will have free food and beer for all festival goers.

After the BBQ winds down around 5-6PM, we will move the party to the Fest camp spot. Festival camping will be on a private meadow along the North Fork South Platte near the Bailey put in (available Friday and Saturday nights). Campers are requested to donate $10 per head to camp for the weekend to cover festival insurance costs, and meadow costs.

Camping Details The campsite is on a private meadow along the North Fork of the South Platte approximately 3 miles downstream from the town of Bailey. To get to the campground, take Wellington Lake Rd (68 RD) south from the Town of Bailey. From highway 285 in Bailey, go 3.2 miles along 68RD to a gate. Turn left at the gate that will be marked with a Bailey Fest sign. Past the gate, the road is poorly maintained and requires moderate to high clearance vehicles to navigate. Travel 1/4 mile to the meadow along the river. Please keep the entrance to the meadow clear of cars. The campground will have a port-a-potty. Campers should practice leave no trace camping along the meadow. Please use firepans for any fires and pick up all trash.
