Other Ways to Donate
There are many ways to support American Whitewater beyond traditional cash donations. Here are several alternative donation methods that you can use to help us save rivers. American Whitewater is a registered non-profit 501©(3) organization, EIN # 23-7083760.
Monthly Giving
Contribute a minimum of $10 via credit card or electronic transfer from your bank account. Your monthly contribution automatically renews your annual American Whitewater membership. Contact our Engagement Director at bethany@americanwhitewater.org or 1-866-262-8429 for details.

Securities
Donating appreciated stock to American Whitewater benefits both the donor and whitewater rivers and the donor receives two tax-related benefits. First, the gain on the stock is not subject to capital gains taxes. Second, the donor can deduct the value of the stock as a charitable contribution. If you do choose to donate appreciated stock, please let us know when you send the funds through your brokerage firm. Contact our Engagement Director at bethany@americanwhitewater.org for details.
Cryptocurrency
Individuals or businesses can donate cryptocurrency to American Whitewater through a Giving Account with Fidelity Charitable. Contact our Engagement Director at bethany@americanwhitewater.org or 828-586-1930 for details on setting up an account and issuing a grant to American Whitewater.
Bequests
Include American Whitewater in your will or living trust. Bequests to American Whitewater are generally exempt from federal or state inheritance taxes, and subject to an unlimited deduction. Any gift that names American Whitewater (TAX I.D. #23-7083760) as a beneficiary and that will be distributed beyond your lifetime qualifies you as a member of our Enduring Rivers Circle. Employer Matching
Many employers will match your donations to non-profit organizations. This includes membership payments, as well as additional contributions. Ask your employer if they have a matching donations program.
Combined Federal Campaign
Federal employees including federal civilians, military personnel and U.S. Postal Workers can donate to AW through the CFC, a once a year charitable fund raising program. Look for American Whitewater (Agency #11351) in the official CFC listing of eligible donors.
United Way
All federal campaigns, and a few of the local campaigns will allow you to donate to American Whitewater. Find your local United Way and request your donation go to American Whitewater.
AmazonSmile
AmazonSmile is a way customers can support charitable organizations when they shop with Amazon. Customers who shop at smile.amazon.com will find the same Amazon they know, with the added bonus that AmazonSmile will donate a portion of the eligible purchase price to American Whitewater.
MissionFish
Sell your items through the MissionFish program on eBay and the proceeds go directly to American Whitewater
Vehicle Donations
Turn that extra car, truck, or RV into a tax deductible donation benefiting AW by donating it.
Other Assets
A gift of real estate to AW may qualify for a tax deduction based on the property’s fair market value. If it is not a river access point, AW will sell the property and use the proceeds to protect access and restore rivers. Acceptance of property is subject to certain conditions.
